The flower invites the butterfly with no-mind;
The butterfly visits the flower with no-mind.
The flower opens, the butterfly comes;
The butterfly comes, the flower opens.
I don’t know others,
Others don’t know me.
By not-knowing we follow nature’s course.

Dear Sangha,
We are very happy to inform you that the Head Zen Master for the worldwide Kwan Um School of Zen, Zen Master Soeng Hyang (Bobby Rhodes) will be visiting Europe in January and February 2010 giving a series of Dharma Talks and leading Zen Retreats. This is a wonderful opportunity to practice with such a great teacher, ask questions, have kongan interviews and listen to her Dharma talks.
Zen Master Soeng Hyang was one of Zen Master Seung Sahn’s very first students. She began studying Zen with him in 1972. During those early years, she was one of the founding members of the Providence Zen Center in Cumberland, Rhode Island. She received Inka from Zen Master Seung Sahn in 1977. In 1992 she received full transmission from him and became a Zen Master.
Zen Master Soeng Hyang travels extensively throughout the world and is bringing the Dharma to many people. For over 30 years now, she has worked as a registered hospice nurse. Just recently she moved from Providence, Rhode Island to Massachusetts.
