From March 8 to March 28, 2021, at 5.00 am(CEST, Warsaw time zone), there will be group online daily practice of 500 bows.
Periods of intensive together practice are a great form of strengthening our presence on the Zen path.
When joining the event, you should assume that you are taking part in the practice every day for at least 7 consecutive days (preferably 3 weeks). The idea of an intensive practice period is to commit to a given time and then just do it (similar to participating in a group retreat).
Use the form, please. Before applying, be sure to read the FAQ. The most important things are described there.

Bowing is a form of meditation that involves the whole body, which quickly helps you to focus your mind. Meditation becomes quite intense. This is a very good method for people who want to make an extra effort in practice, but don’t have a lot of time.
MY HEALTH IS OK, BUT I’M NOT SURE IF IT WON’T BE TOO BIG A CHALLENGE FOR ME, PHYSICALLY
500 bows a day is certainly a physical effort. The experience of many people who have done it shows that the body adapts quickly. The most important thing is to keep the practicemind throughout. If you cannot complete the entire schedule on a given day, do standing bows (all or part of it). This is ok. Common sense is important.
WHAT DO I NEED?
phone / tablet / computer with Zoom installed
mat/blankets – see the TIPS below
sport shorts / loose-fitting pants and comfortable t-shirt
This practice can be a very deep and interesting experience. However, its intensity can sometimes trigger emotions that will be
difficult to deal with. If you experience such emotions, please contact your Guiding Teacher.
WHAT IF I WILL NOT WAKE UP IN TIME TO JOIN THE PRACTICE OR I HAVE TO LEAVE EARLY ETC.?
Try to do the practice by yourself alone that day and show up the next morning. It happens.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO JOIN?
It’s free. You can support Cracow Zen Center with a donation if you wish. It’s always nice.
I HAVE SORENESS/MY MUSCLES HURT
Methods used in sports work: massage (e.g. rolling the thighs on massagers), sports ointments, Epsom salt soaking bath etc.
TYPE OF MAT TO USE
Thick sitting mat or couple of them stacked or 2-3 blankets folded and stacked. With this amount of bowing, a towel to protect the mat from sweat is useful. The foam mats also work well (denser foam variety) plus they are resistant to sweat.
SHOULD I DO A LITTLE MORE BOWING THAN USUAL PRIOR TO MARCH 8?
If you are not used to bowing a lot, you should prepare yourself for at least a week. Start with 108 a day and work your way up to 216. After a week of preparation, you should be able to carry out the program. I would like to warn you that initial physical adaptation may be a bit difficult.
Caffeine, citrulline, ginseng. They all work fine for me.Citrulline offers cardiovascular support during exercise.
