DESCRIPTION:Hybrid: face-to-face and online \nDecember 4 to 11 (arrival December 3). \nIntensive Week\, led by Arne Schaefer JDPSN (8 days with midnight practice). \nIn this traditional retreat there is an extra practice period at midnight (between midnight and 2 o’clock there is a special energy and the effect of the practice is very powerful). At the end of the retreat we’ll held the Buddha’s Enlightenment Day Ceremony. \nThe retreat is silent\, in our Mountain Zen Center located in the middle of nature\, in the Alta Garrotxa Natural Park. The participants follow an intensive program of sitting and walking mediation\, chanting\, bowing and formal meals\, trying to keep alive the practice of attention at all times. According to our bylaws\, you can choose your representative in any way you wish (discussion\, vote\, etc.)\, but the representative has to be approved by your guiding teacher. You are entitled to choose your guiding teacher or a person from another Zen Center or Group\, in case no one from your Sangha will attend the event. Representatives can represent up to 5 center and groups. \n  \nIMPORTANT – TRANSPORTATION \nThis year Sangha Weekend takes place in the mountains of Spain\, therfore it might be difficult to get there. Organizers are asking to think about transportation ahead of time and to group yourselves to rent and share cars. DESCRIPTION:Yong Maeng Jong Jin: to leap like a tiger while sitting. \nIntensive week\, led by Arne Schaefer JDPSN (7 days with midnight practice). \nIn this traditional retreat there is an extra practice period at midnight (between midnight and 2 o’clock there is a special energy and the effect of the practice is very powerful). At the end of the retreat we’ll held the Buddha’s Enlightenment Day Ceremony. \nThe retreats are silent\, in our mountain Zen Center located in the middle of nature\, in the incredible Natural Park of the Alta Garrotxa in the Pyrenees\, the ideal place for a retreat. Participants follow an intensive schedule of sitting and walking meditation\, chanting\, prostrations and formal meals\, in which one tries to keep alive the practice of attention at all times. With kong-an interviews and Dharma talk. \nAbout the teacher: \nArne Schaefer JDPSN began practicing in the Tibetan Kagyu Tradition –Diamond Way– in 1990. He started practicing Zen in the Kwan Um School of Zen in 1992 when he attended a YMJJ in Berlin with Zen Master Seung Sahn and since then has practiced with many teachers of the Kwan Um School of Zen in Europe\, Korea and the USA. In April 2010\, Arne Schaefer received Inka from Zen Master Wu Bong. He is guiding teacher of the Zen Centers in Dresdenand in Bad Bramstedt and of the Hamburg Zen Group. He was awarded a Master’s degree in religious studies in 1996 and a Master’s degree in psychology in 2002\, both from the Free University of Berlin. Additionally he has furthered his studies in solution-focused consulting and co-active coaching.
