Transmission Ceremony
Sunday, May 17th 2026
We invite you to attend this wonderful ceremony
During the transmission ceremony the new Zen Master will do a short Dharma exchange, give a formal Dharma talk, receive a new name and becomes a successor in Zen Master Seung Sahn’s lineage.
Please join us at this rare opportunity to witness this ceremony!
Two Inka Ceremonies
Saturday, May 16th 2026
During the Inka ceremony the candidates are tested by the Sangha during a Dharma Combat. After successful completion they will give a formal Dharma talk, and become Dharma Masters (Ji Do Poep Sa Nim) in the Kwan Um School of Zen.
A Time for Connection
Beyond the formal ceremonies, this weekend is a precious chance for our Sangha to simply be together.
Between the events, we will have ample space for informal gathering—to share tea, catch up with old friends, and meet new practitioners.
We look forward to celebrating, laughing, and sitting together as one community.
